Church life: Many of you have walked our struggles with church. Jennifer as a born and raised committed Episcopalian really had to grieve leaving the worship experience of the Episcopal tradition. God has been so good to us! We are in a great Sunday School Class where weekly the exploration of the Scriptures is challenging and relevant! The kids are in youth programs that are enjoyable, enriching and guided by many people of faith that act as role models in their life. Although the worship experience misses the mark (according to Jennifer) because it misses that sacramental flair, the new pastor at First Presbyterian Church is a dynamic preacher. Plus when Jennifer talked to him a bit about her struggles with leaving the Episcopal tradition, he affirmed her by saying if he was not a Presbyterian pastor, he would be an Episcopal priest. Jennifer finds evidence of this in the Worship and in this pastors preaching which has eased the letting go of this deeply ingrained tradition in her life.

Projects on the house This was a backyard year! We extended our driveway by putting concrete from the front of the house to the back. We put a new fence up and put in a new lawn. Inside we just painted our family room which was a pretty bold move on our part after 5 years of not being able to agree on a color. We finally agreed on this very vivid color which oddly enough we love. The best project we were going to do was paint the house BUT we learned that our siding was bad and it is in the middle of a class action law suit. We actually were advised to not paint til next summer. Talk about being rewarded for procrastinating! We will see if we will actually get it done by our next Christmas letter!
